PART THREE:
THE CLASSIC STAR TREK YEARS

Before the explosion of The Next Generation in the late eighties and early nineties, Creation events featured guests from the Classic series and the motion pictures. Here now is a sampling from those days...

MAJEL BARRETT RODDENBERRY,
keeper of the Star Trek flame.

WILLIAM SHATNER,
our captain, continues to thrill audiences nationwide whenever he energetically appears on a Creation stage. We love this guy.

BILL SHATNER,
ten years later and going strong.

LEONARD NIMOY
...has enjoyed a multi-faceted career on the stage, screen, as director and now producer of Alien Voices. It has always been our honor to present Leonard.

DEFOREST KELLEY
Our beloved De reigns supreme as Star Trek's resident cowboy and poet. He and lovely wife Carolyn have been inspirations to us at Creation for many years

JAMES DOOHAN,
the cantankerous Scotty, was last seen on several episodes of UPN's Homeboys In Outer Space.

GEORGE TAKEI
...was Captain Sulu of the Excelsior, helmsman of the Enterprise, and still keeps in fabulous shape by running every day.

WALTER KOENIG
...has enjoyed a great run as the villainous Bester on Babylon 5 recently, and directs various theatre projects in the Los Angeles area. Of course he's our screaming Chekov, Gene Roddenberry's answer to Davy Jones.

NICHELLE NICHOLS
...first lady of the galaxy, is equally at home as Uhura of Star Trek as she is singing vocal interpretations of jazz classics. Proponent of the space program, trailblazer and tempestuous diva, 'Chelle has class and style to spare.

GRACE LEE WHITNEY,
has battled years of adversity to come out proudly on top; "Amazing" Grace missions at prisons and in 12 step programs, inspiring all around her to "find a higher power"; as Yeoman Rand she enchanted a generation of American males with her "intergalactic hairbun".

ROGER C. CARMEL
...the late great Harry Mudd, missed years of love and adulation on the convention circuit by sadly passing away prematurely.

ROBIN CURTIS
...the second Saavik, is our guest from time to time at Grand Slam.

MALACHI THRONE
...more recently seen as a treacherous Romulan on ST:NG, is a distinguished character actor who played Commodore Mendes in the Roddenberry classic The Menagerie.

BIBI BESCH
...the lovely and talented actress recently passed away; we'll all remember her fondly as Dr. Carol Marcus from Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan.

MARK LENARD & JANE WYATT
...were Spock's parents, Sarek and Amanda. Mark unfortunately passed away recently, a terrible loss to the legions of his fans who loved his work on stage and screen; Jane resides in Bel Air, California, and takes adventurous trips to exotic ports of call around the world.

MERRITT BUTTRICK
...the actor who was Kirk's son David, also passed away some years ago.
